Andrew Stollmeyer

Candidate for Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

My name is Andrew Stollmeyer, and I am currently in my junior year as a mechanical engineering student at the University of Colorado Boulder. I have a lifelong passion for engineering and problem-solving, and my main interests lie in robotics, automation, and sustainable engineering. Many of my personal projects focus on using robotics to simplify tedious human tasks and designing renewable energy systems to help reduce environmental impact. I am excited about the growing intersection of robotics and environmental sustainability, where intelligent systems can play a keystone role in creating cleaner, more efficient ways of living and working. I am proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, PTC Creo, AutoCAD, Onshape, and Fusion 360, and I have experience with finite element analysis. I am also very interested in advancing manufacturing processes and have extensive experience in SLA/FDM 3D printing, as well as in designing under strict fabrication constraints. As a member of Northeastern's Electric Racing (FSAE) team, I worked to design and fabricate a center-locking hub-and-nut system to replace the existing 4-bolt lug-nut system, lowering the vehicle's unsprung mass and wheel-removal time. I am currently a mechanical engineering intern at HRE Performance Wheels, where I am helping to build production-line automation solutions and internal mechanical design tools, as well as assisting with parametric wheel design and finite element analysis. For more information about my experience in engineering, please see my resume and project portfolio. Feel free to message me via LinkedIn or email with any questions!
